This course is preceded by Introduction to Construction and is the third of three courses that
provides the student a solid foundation in carpentry skills and knowledge. As the third step
in gaining a Level One Industry Certification in Carpentry, the course provides an overview
of the building materials used in the carpentry craft, as well as teaching techniques for
reading and using blueprints and specifications related to the carpentry craft. The course
provides specific knowledge and skills in site layout and floor and wall framing systems, and
includes basic industry terminology for a carpentry craftsperson.
